It is a little known fact that on May 26, 1966, President Lyndon B. Johnson, signed a Presidential Proclamation recognizing Waterloo as the Birthplace of Memorial Day.
I am proud to get to spend the weekend in the very spot where Memorial Day was first observed. Come join me on it's 146th anniversary and enjoy some of the wonderful events Lafayette Park has to offer.
Here are just a few:
* Boat tours/wagon rides
* Live music
* Ice cream and pizza eating contests
* Car shows
* 5k race
~and of course~
*The 2 day craft show!
